Managing Director Naufal Zamir has been named amongst the 2011 "Who's Who" of successful British Bangladeshis, a compilation of prominent entrepreneurs, businessmen, academics and community members based in Britain.
Presented by the publishers of the London-based Bangla Mirror, British Bangladeshi Who’s Who is an annual publication highlighting the most successful, influential and wealthy members of the Bangladeshi community from various sectors and professions.
Naufal Zamir is founder of Zamir Telecom, a global telecommunications company. Starting with just a laptop and a fax machine in 2004, seven years later Zamir Telecom is a global leader in the VoIP industry, and the company is on track to reach Naufal Zamir’s goal of increasing the company’s sales five-fold in the next five years.
Zamir Telecom is the holding company of SimpleCall, a consumer and retail brand well-recognised and respected among the Bangladeshi community and beyond for its reliable and cheap international calling service and transparent billing practises.
Earlier this year, Zamir Telecom was named the 13th-fastest-growing tech company by The Sunday Times Tech Track 100, which champions the UK’s top-performing private businesses.
At the awards gala hosted 13 October at the Water Lily banquet hall in East London, Naufal Zamir thanked the publisher of British Bangladeshi Who’s Who and the community. He went on to explain that being an entrepreneur of a telecom start-up was extremely difficult, but his success is due to the participation and support of the Bangladeshi community, calling them partners in building a company based on reliability, honesty and trust.
British Bangladeshi Who's Who 2011 boasts a selective and exclusive approach, having minimum requirements that must be met by each entrant in terms of wealth and status in the Bangladeshi community. The publication is in association with Bangla Mirror, the first and only English-language weekly newspaper for the Bangladeshi community.
